WHAT ARE COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS?
Promoting Design Education & Skills
What are Community Workshops?
SPIKE Studio is partnering with the nonprofit organization Scouting America to help middle and high school students learn about architecture, construction, engineering, and sustainability, engage in fun and informative activities about different professional fields, and become better stewards of their communities. Inspired by the design and civic leadership of SPIKE Studio Founder and former Eagle Scout Oscar Harris FAIA, these Community Workshops reinforce our commitment to provide holistic educational experiences for youths that build design, technical, and life skills.
Current and prospective Scouts, regardless of sex, can participate in these workshops.
During each Community Workshop, youths can earn up to three to four Merit badges. This series of Community Workshops culminates with our April 2027 workshop, in which student participants will receive the distinguished SPIKE Studio Badge.
The $15.00 registration fee for each Community Workshop covers pizza and a beverage for lunch, a snack, workshop supplies, and the badge.
